What is the difference between pre, medium and hepa filters?
The main difference between the pre filter, medium and hepa filter is the difference in filtration  and use, role, material and speed, different filters, the function may be somewhat different, in the multi-stage filtration system that uses medium and hepa filters at the same time, the pre filter is set up to reduce the filtering pressure of the medium filter, while the pre filter, medium filter is set up to reduce the pressure of the hepa filter and improve the service life of the hepa filter, because the price of the hepa filter is much higher than that of the pre and medium filters.

01. Different uses.
Pre filter: applicable to the Pre filtration of air-conditioning systems, or the coarse level filtration end of multi-stage filtration systems.
Medium filter: widely used for medium filtration in air-conditioning systems.
Hepa filter: generally used for the final filtration of dust-free filtration system with high requirements.

02. Different scenarios and roles of application.
Pre filter: mainly used for filtering dust particles above 5μm.
Medium filter: mainly used for filtering dust particles above 1-5μm.
Hepa filter: mainly used to trap particles of dust below 0.5μm and various suspended matters, with high filtration back, low resistance and large dust capacity.

03. The optional materials available are also different.
Pre filter: outer frame materials include paper frame, aluminum frame, galvanized iron frame, filter materials include non-woven fabric, nylon mesh, activated carbon filter material, metal hole mesh, etc.
Medium filters: bag, frame and combination type, etc.
Hepa filter: using ultra-fine glass fibre paper as filter material, offset paper, aluminium film and other materials as splitting board, glued together with wooden frame and aluminium alloy.

04. The three have different filtration accuracy and speed.
Pre filter: G1 - G4 5 microns 65%, 80%, 90%, 95%
Medium filter: F5 - F9 1 micron 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, 95%.
Hepa filters: H10 - H14 0.5 micron 95%, 99.5%, 99.95%, 99.995%, 99.9995%.

What is the difference between Pre filter, medium filter and Hepa filter: Pre filter is also known as coarse efficiency, mainly to protect the next filter section of medium , medium is to protect the next filter section of Hepa, Pre filter also has a separate use of the environment, generally not very high requirements for dust removal, for example: dust filtration of cabinets or distribution boxes, is the application scenario of using Pre filter alone. The main difference: different materials and different filtration levels. If the Hepa section is not installed before the medium then the Hepa will be scrapped in a very short period of time, the same applies to the medium. Moreover, the Pre filter, the medium filter and the Hepa filter can all three be directly purchased in conventional specifications or can be customised in size according to the use application scenario.
