What is the difference between HEPA and ultra-HEPA filters?

High-efficiency filters and ultra-high-efficiency filters mainly have the following differences:
Filtration efficiency
High-efficiency filter: According to GB/T 13554-2008 "High-efficiency Air filter", the use of sodium flame method detection, filtration efficiency is not less than 99.9%; According to GB50472-2008 "Electronic industry clean room design Code", under the rated air volume, the efficiency of the most easily penetrated particle size method is more than 99.95%.
Ultra-high efficiency filter: according to GB/T 13554-2008, the use of counting method detection, filtration efficiency is not less than 99.999%; According to GB50472-2008, under the rated air volume, the efficiency of the most easily penetrated particle size method is above 99.9995%.
Filter particle size
High-efficiency filter: mainly used to capture particles of dust above 0.3μm and a variety of suspended matter.
Ultra-high efficiency filter: mainly used to filter dust particles greater than 0.1μm.
Airflow resistance
High-efficiency filter: According to GB50472-2008, the initial resistance of the airflow is below 220Pa.
Ultra-high efficiency filter: according to GB50472-2008, the initial resistance of the airflow is below 250Pa.
Detection method
High-efficiency filter: Domestic testing is mainly based on GB/T 13554-2008 and other standards, detection methods include the sodium flame method, oil mist method, and counting method three, sodium flame method as the benchmark method.
Ultra-high efficiency filter: efficiency is measured by the counting method.
Application scenario
High-efficiency filter: widely used in optical electronics, LCD liquid crystal manufacturing, biomedicine, precision instruments, beverage and food, PCB printing, and other industries' clean air conditioning end supply.
Ultra-high efficiency filters: used in places with high cleanliness requirements, such as chip manufacturing lithography workshops, high-end biopharmaceutical aseptic production workshops, aerospace dust-free assembly workshops, and some laboratories requiring high-precision scientific experiments.
Cost and price
High-efficiency filter: Compared with ultra-high-efficiency filters, the production process and material requirements are relatively low, and the cost and price are relatively low.
Ultra-high efficiency filter: Because of its extremely high requirements for filter materials, manufacturing process, and quality control, production is difficult, so the cost and price are usually much higher than the high-efficiency filter.
