What is special about filters with glass fibre media?

The performance of the filter media directly affects the filtration efficiency and service life of the equipment.

I. Good temperature resistance

As a highly efficient filter material, glass fiber can be used for a long time under the working conditions of 260℃ (medium alkali) - 280℃ (non-alkali), and the high operating temperature can reach 350℃.
As we all know, the temperature resistance of the filter material plays a decisive role in the operation of the equipment and the cost of use, and in general has the following benefits.

1. Saves the cost of cooling for the installation of dust removal equipment and reduces the cost of the investment;

2. Reduces the amount of cold air admixture, so that the overall air volume of the equipment is effectively controlled;

3. Reduces the risk of condensation on the equipment, prolongs the service life of the equipment, and is very helpful for it to be inefficient operation at all times;

4. Energy saving and emission reduction, take the iron and steel industry blast furnace gas purification, the effective cooling of the gas can not only save its energy, and effectively reduce the calorific value of gas combustion.

II. Good stability performance

Glass fiber in 280 ℃ temperature shrinkage rate of 0, and other synthetic fiber filter media compared to the stability of many superior, in the use of air permeability and filter area changes, or because of the shrinkage of the filter media to make it produce wrinkles, to speed up the breakage of the filter media and other issues.

III. High-breaking strength

High tensile breaking strength can also be said to be another characteristic of this filter media, so when we design the equipment, the tensile breaking strength requirements for the filter media can be largely disregarded, saving a lot of design efforts.

IV. High corrosion resistance

Glass fiber filter media must be treated with surface chemistry before use, without treatment of glass fiber as filter media is completely meaningless, and its chemical corrosion resistance is also known.

V. Folding resistance

Although the folding resistance of glass fiber is relatively poor, we can control the diameter of the fiber and use the surface chemical treatment of these two methods to enhance its folding resistance.
What we need to know here is that the diameter of the glass fiber has a greater impact on the folding resistance, so we can make appropriate improvements from this aspect.
