What aspects should be considered when inspecting the quality of high-efficiency filters?

In purification engineering projects, high-efficiency filters are often needed, but what aspects should be paid attention to for the quality of high-efficiency filtration? Many people may not know. Next, Zhongjing Purification will show you how to check the quality of high-efficiency filters. There are generally three simple and convenient methods for checking the quality of high-efficiency filters, including checking raw materials, visual inspection, and simple testing.
1. Visual inspection
1. The surface of the filter material is broken or slightly damaged. It is easy to observe the damage to the filter material with the naked eye. A small amount of damage can be repaired with glass glue. This repair should be carried out by the filter manufacturer. Other minor damage is not easy to see and can only be found after leakage test machine detection.
2. Sealing defects, and air leakage at the junction of the filter material and the outer frame of the filter. In production inspection, most of the unqualified efficiencies are caused by this kind of air leakage.
3. Air leakage at the joint of the filter sealing strip. Many high-efficiency filters have sealing strips on the frame. Sometimes the interface is not handled well, which will cause air leakage. Some manufacturers use polyurethane sealing strips foamed on site, which have no seams and no air leakage problems.
2. Check the raw materials
First, the filter material itself is inefficient. If the efficiency of the filter material itself does not meet the requirements (the definition of high-efficiency filter material: tested at a wind speed of 5.3cm/s, the filtration efficiency of 0.3μm dust is ≥99.97%), it is impossible to produce a qualified filter.
To check the filter material, you can place the filter flat on the floor or table and spray some water on the filter paper. The quality of the material can be judged according to the water penetration:
1. If water penetrates through the filter paper within 5 minutes, it is an air-quality filter made of cotton pulp paper, which is a fake and inferior paper filter paper and is never recommended.
2. If the water enters the filter paper within 2 to 5 hours, that is, low-grade wood pulp paper, it can be used, but it will reduce the gas production efficiency of the air compressor and cause power consumption of the air compressor. The air filter developed by the air compressor industry is the mainstream, and most air compressor stores sell this air filter online.
3. If the filter paper does not penetrate the filter paper within 12-15 hours, it is a better filter paper, a mid-range filter paper material. This type of air filter paper is generally used as original consumables by domestic complete equipment factories, and its quality is good.
4. If there is no water seepage problem in 24 hours, the filter paper is a superior product and belongs to high-end filter paper. Usually, only high-end product manufacturers choose high-efficiency filter consumables of a type of filter paper.
Secondly, the dust emission of the surface material. Traditional high-efficiency filters with partitions, if the partitions are made of paper, and the raw materials are not strictly controlled, there is a risk of dust emission from the paper partitions. The filter material production environment is poor, and the filter material itself carries a large amount of dust that may fall off, and the filter made may also generate dust. It is worth noting that some inspection methods cannot detect this type of dust emission.
3. Simple test
In many cases, after the filter is installed, people can use the downstream dust concentration to judge whether the filter is qualified. At this time, if the upstream concentration is too large, even if the filtration efficiency is qualified, it may be mistaken for being unqualified due to the high downstream concentration.
