What affects the filtration efficiency of HEPA filters?

1. Filter bag material

The selection and application of filter bag material is the core technology of bag-type dust removal equipment, which plays a decisive role in the performance of high-efficiency air filters. Due to the different environments of the dust collection point, the nature, temperature, and technical requirements for dust removal are also different, and different filter materials should be selected according to different conditions and corresponding technical protection measures should be taken. Requirements for filter bag materials include the following technical properties: filter bag materials suitable for different temperatures, good peeling, easy to remove ash, good air permeability, low resistance, high filtration efficiency, high strength, can withstand high intensity of ash removal, long service life, reasonable price.

2. Air leakage

Air leakage directly affects the dust removal effect and life of the dust collector, air leakage rate of <3%. A bag dust collector is generally operating under negative pressure, such as air leakage. Dust collection system air volume is insufficient, the formation of positive pressure dust. Air leakage will also reduce the system temperature, easily dampen the paste bag, increase the dust collection resistance, and reduce the efficient filtration effect of filtering equipment.

3. Filtration speed

High-efficiency filter wind speed is an important parameter to determine the performance of the filter, but also an important parameter to measure the performance of the bag-type dust collector. Filter speed and dust gas dust concentration, particle size, application, viscosity, gas temperature, moisture content, and dust removal methods are closely related. When the dust particle size is finer, the higher the temperature and humidity, the higher the concentration, the higher the viscosity, and the lower the filtration wind speed, otherwise a high value can be selected. If the wind speed is too high, it will increase the load of the filter bag, and increase the resistance of the filter bag, resulting in short service life of the filter bag and low efficiency.
