The role of high efficiency air filters in food plants

The high-efficiency air filter is a device that traps dust from the gas-solid two-phase flow through the action of porous filter material and enables the gas to be purified.
Air filters are used to purify the air with a low dust content and then send it into the room to ensure the process requirements of clean rooms and the cleanliness of the air in general air-conditioned rooms.


For some clean rooms with high requirements, high-efficiency air filters are required for filtration.
High-efficiency air filters are mainly used to trap particles of dust and various suspended matter below 0.5um.
The high-efficiency air purifier is mainly composed of two parts: the filter element and the housing.
The basic requirements are high filtration efficiency, low flow resistance, and the ability to be used continuously for a longer period to reduce the cost of consumables later on.

Before the installation of high-efficiency air filters, the following work needs to be done:


1. The decoration and installation of the clean room in the food factory should be completed, and the clean room should be thoroughly cleaned and cleaned.


2. The clean air conditioning system of the clean room in the food factory needs to be cleaned, wiped, and carefully checked.
If dust is found, it should be cleaned again to meet the cleaning requirements.


3. If the high-efficiency filter is installed in a technical mezzanine or lifting item, the mezzanine or lifting item should be cleaned and wiped to meet the cleaning requirements.


4. The high-efficiency filter for the food factory should be opened at the installation site for appearance inspection, including whether the frame, filter media, and sealant are damaged; whether the various dimensions meet the requirements of the drawings; whether the frame has burrs and rust spots (metal frame); whether there is a product certificate of conformity, and whether its technical performance meets the engineering design requirements.


High-efficiency filters with air cleanliness class 5 or above (class 100) in clean rooms should be tested for leaks according to regulations and leak detection should be carried out before installation.
