Performance testing methods for high efficiency air filters

The high-efficiency air filter in the clean room is one of the key pieces of equipment to achieve high cleanliness air purification, so after the installation or replacement of this equipment, it is very necessary to check the leakage of its installation connection, now come with us to see the specific leak detection method.

I. Instrument of detection: Professional dust particle counter.

II. Principle of detection: Mainly using the principle of light scattering, the photomultiplier tube is used to receive the reflected light of dust particles to determine their size and quantity and to analyze them.

III. Conditions for detection

1. Required environmental conditions: the surrounding temperature needs to be controlled between 18 - 26°C; the relative humidity between 45 - 65%;

2. Test condition: the test must be static and no more than 2 persons must be present in the room;

3. The required pressure difference: for different clean environments, the static pressure difference is generally around 5 Pa, and the static pressure difference between the clean and non-clean areas is around 10 Pa.

IV. Methods of detection

1. The dust particle counter will be disinfected by injecting water with 75% alcohol and then sterilized by UV light for about 30 minutes before being passed into the clean area;

2. Place the dust particle counter in a horizontal position on the table, with the plastic tube port for measurement correctly inserted into the connector of the filter;

3. Turn on the power and the instrument will be automatically tested, then the plastic tube can be unplugged from the interface of the device, and the port placed at the position where the measurement is required;

4. When testing the sampling head must be 2-4aTl away from the high-efficiency filter, slowly scan along the inner frame of the device and in the middle, test at least 5 points per device, and carefully observe the data displayed;

5. After the test is complete, connect the plastic tube port for sampling to the rear panel of the dust particle counter for testing and then switch off the power.

V. Conclusion of the test

After the above series of tests, we can find that the high-efficiency filter has leaks and needs to be plugged and replaced promptly, which is a common occurrence, so we must not ignore the importance of testing. Under normal conditions of use, we generally do the relevant tests at least once a year to see if the equipment has changed so that the performance of the equipment can be guaranteed for a long time.
