Method to determine whether the filter needs to be replaced
Method to determine whether the filter needs to be replacedIn the process of using a flat air filter, it is important to accurately determine whether it needs to be replaced. This not only ensures the effect of air filtration and maintains good air quality, but also avoids the waste of resources and increased costs caused by excessive use or premature replacement of filters. The following describes several common judgment methods.(1) Method of observation Observation is the most intuitive and simple way to judge. By directly observing the appearance of the flat air filter, we can preliminarily determine whether it needs to be replaced. First, look at the dust accumulation on the filter surface. The new flat air filter is usually more uniform and clean, and the surface of the filter material is almost invisible. With the increase in use time, the dust particles in the air will gradually adhere to the filter material. When it is found that the filter surface has a large area of dust coverage, the color is significantly darker, and even appears black or dark gray, it indicates that the filter has accumulated a lot of dust, the filtration capacity may have been affected, and it needs to be replaced. For example, in some dusty industrial places, after a period of use, the surface of the flat air filter may be covered by a thick layer of dust, in this case, the filter efficiency will be greatly reduced, and should be replaced in time. Second, check whether the filter is damaged. In the process of use, due to the impact of external force, air erosion, and other factors, the filter material of the filter may be damaged. Even small damage will cause unfiltered air to pass directly through, reducing the overall filtration effect. Therefore, once the filter surface is found to have cracks, holes fiber breakage, and other damage, regardless of the degree of dust accumulation, it should be replaced immediately. For example, when installing or maintaining the filter, if you accidentally collide with the filter, it may cause damage to the filter material, at this time, it is necessary to check and replace the new filter in time to ensure the normal operation of the air filtration system. (2) Resistance detection Resistance detection is a more scientific and accurate method to determine whether the flat air filter needs to be replaced. The principle is based on the filter in the process of use, with the continuous accumulation of dust, the pores of the filter material are gradually blocked, and the resistance of the air through the filter will gradually increase. When the resistance increases to a certain extent, the filtration efficiency of the filter will decrease, and may affect the normal operation of the ventilation system, at this time, the filter needs to be replaced. In practice, a differential pressure meter is usually used to detect the resistance of the filter. The pressure differential meter reflects the resistance of the filter by measuring the pressure difference between the front and back ends of the filter. In general, when the resistance of the filter reaches 2-3 times its initial resistance (that is, the resistance of the new filter under the rated air volume), it can be considered that the filter has reached its service life and needs to be replaced. For example, the initial resistance of a certain type of flat air filter is 100Pa, and when the resistance is detected by the differential pressure meter to reach 200-300Pa, the filter should be replaced. To accurately grasp the resistance change of the filter, it is recommended to record its initial resistance value after the filter is installed and regularly use the differential pressure meter for detection. For some places with high air quality requirements and frequent use of filters, such as hospital operating rooms, electronic chip manufacturing workshops, etc., the detection frequency should be increased to find abnormal changes in filter resistance in time to ensure the stable operation of the air filtration system. In addition, real-time monitoring of the filter resistance can be achieved by installing the differential pressure switch. When the resistance reaches the set alarm value, the differential pressure switch will automatically issue an alarm to remind the user to replace the filter in time. |
