Laboratory biosafety cabinets are maintained and serviced in a manner

A laboratory biosafety cabinet is a piece of equipment used to protect laboratory personnel and the environment from biohazards. It reduces the concentration of biohazardous substances in the laboratory by filtering the air while increasing work safety and efficiency. There are three different types including Type I, Type II, and Type III, each of which is suitable for handling different levels of biohazardous substances. Type I Biosafety Cabinets have one side opening and are suitable for low-risk operations including handling of harmless microorganisms, biochemical reagents pharmaceuticals, etc. Type II Biosafety Cabinets have more wind power are suitable for medium-risk level biological experiments and are capable of handling bioaerosols, substances that may contain bacteria, harmful chemical reagents, etc. Type III Biosafety Cabinets are high-level, airtight, and capable of handling high-risk biohazardous substances such as smallpox and Ebola.
Maintenance and care of laboratory biological safety cabinet:
  1. Before using every day: Before switching on the machine, you should carefully check whether there is any foreign matter accumulating on the surface of the table, filter, and air inlet, and check whether the power plug is plugged in tightly. Before use, you should do a good job of cleaning and sterilization to ensure that the inside of the equipment is clean and sterile.
  2. Regular disinfection: regular disinfection is needed to kill germs, bacteria, and other microorganisms, and it is generally recommended to disinfect the inside of the equipment once a month.
  3. Regular replacement of filters: Filters are an important part of ensuring environmental cleanliness and filtering air dust. Filters must be replaced according to the time of use. If the filter is heavily contaminated, it is recommended that it be replaced immediately.
  4. Regular maintenance: Regular maintenance is also required, including lubricating gears, cleaning motors, checking electrical connections, and checking differential pressure gauges and anemometers. If there are faults or damage need to be promptly dealt with or replacement parts.
  5. Prohibit the private change of location or use: is specially designed for special experiments, prohibits the private change of location or use in the operation process, and complies with the instructions to ensure the safe use of the safety cabinet.
Laboratory biological safety cabinets are an important part of laboratory safety, productivity, and biological protection. They can provide an efficient and safe working environment for experimental personnel and the environment, which not only protects the personnel and samples in the laboratory but also prevents biohazards from spreading to the outside.
