How to determine whether the filter needs to be replaced?

How to determine whether the filter needs to be replaced?

There are several ways to determine whether the filter needs to be replaced:
1. Pressure differential monitoring
- Install a differential pressure gauge to monitor the pressure difference before and after the filter. When the pressure difference reaches or exceeds the specified maximum pressure difference value of the filter, it usually indicates that the filter is clogged and needs to be replaced. For example, the initial pressure difference value of the high-efficiency filter may be around 100-200 Pa. When the pressure difference rises to 500-600 Pa, it may need to be replaced.
2. Wind speed detection
- Use an anemometer to measure the wind speed in the air shower room or ventilation system. If the wind speed decreases significantly, it may mean that the filter's filtering capacity has decreased and needs to be replaced.
3. Appearance inspection
- For primary filters, you can directly observe their appearance. If the surface of the filter is covered with a lot of dust and dirt and is difficult to clean, it may need to be replaced.
4. Use time
- Refer to the manufacturer's recommended replacement cycle based on the type of filter and the use environment. If the filter has reached or exceeded the recommended use time, even if the pressure difference and wind speed have not shown obvious abnormalities, it should be considered for replacement.
5. Cleanliness test
- Perform a cleanliness test on filtered air. If the test result shows that the cleanliness is not up to standard, it may be that the filter is invalid and needs to be replaced.
For example, in the clean room of a pharmaceutical factory, by regularly monitoring the pressure difference of the high-efficiency filter, when the pressure difference exceeds the set value, the filter is replaced in time, thus ensuring that the air quality in the workshop always meets the strict requirements of pharmaceutical production.
The above methods can be used in combination to more accurately determine whether the filter needs to be replaced to ensure the normal operation and filtering effect of the air filtration system.
