How to deal with high efficiency air filter leaks?

How to deal with high efficiency air filter leaks?

1. Negative pressure leak sealing This sealing method is based on the principle that contaminated air leaking from a positive pressure space is artificially directed to a negative pressure space outside the working area to ensure that the working area is not contaminated.

2. Contact filler sealing. Fillers used for sealing include solid gaskets such as neoprene, closed-cell sponge rubber sheets etc. and liquid sealants such as silicone rubber, neoprene, natural rubber. Solid gaskets have a method of sealing that is usually mechanically compressed by the bolt matrix. The compression rate of the rubber sheet is usually 30 to 50 %. Liquid sealants are sealed by the filling and bonding method. This sealing method is the most commonly used sealing method for general clean rooms.

3. Sealing the liquid slit openings by injecting a certain height of non-Newtonian sealing liquid into the slit-shaped frame and inserting the openings of the high efficiency filter into the sealing liquid to block the air passages on both sides, thus achieving a seal. This sealing method is reliable and the filter is easy to disassemble. It is commonly used for sealing clean rooms of Class 100, Class 10 and higher cleanliness.

Finally, it is best not to use the blocking method for leaks in HEPA filters, as the more blocking there is, the more leaks there will be due to poor sealing of the contact section. The best solution is to address the underlying problem, and if the construction is poor, structural problems should be addressed.
