How can I tell if a medium efficiency filter is obsolete?

The problem of ineffective filter scrapping is an important issue that users have to face because only the correct judgment of the ineffective filter has been scrapped, to make the corresponding replacement plan for the ineffective filter, after our collection and collation, a total of two cases can be judged as ineffective filter scrapping:

  I. When doing environmental testing, found that the room suspended particles were significantly high, excluding other reasons, removing the high-efficiency air supply outlet of the scattering plate, in the air supply outlet surface damage, black grey stains, in this phenomenon, the medium-efficiency filter can not be used promptly to replace the filter with a new one. If the filter is not damaged, use the air volume cover to cover the room air supply outlet to measure the air supply volume of each air supply outlet, the air supply volume becomes larger, replacement.

II. In the case of other air filters without any abnormality, the room air supply outlet air volume is less than half of the standard air volume, indicating that the filter has been clogged, and should be clogged with the replacement of the intermediate-effect filter.

  Replacement of medium-effect filters:

Remove the scattering plate of the scrapped medium-efficiency filter; loosen the fixings of the medium-efficiency filter; after removing the medium-efficiency filter, check the static pressure box, fixings, and panels for corrosion and loss, and if corrosion is found, descale and spray paint the filter. According to the specifications and quantity of the new medium-efficiency filter, check that the outer package of the medium-efficiency filter is complete without damage, the certificate of conformity of the medium-efficiency filter should be complete, the outer frame should be sturdy and durable, and the filter paper should be free from damages; put it in a clean and dry place after removing the outer package, and the inner package should be kept intact before installation.

When replacing the filter in the clean area, use a clean rag to clean the static pressure box of the filter, then open the inner package of the filter, paste the sealing strip to the air inlet side of the filter, and smoothly put the filter into the static pressure box, pay attention to the handling and record the specification model, number and installation position of the filter. When fixing the filter, first check that the filter is in the middle of the static pressure box, and the distance between the filter and the static pressure box is quite close to each other, and the fixing parts should be fixed at an angle, to prevent uneven stress or damage to the filter. The fixing nut in the static pressure box should be screwed tightly to make the connection between the medium efficiency filter and the static pressure box coincide and sealed. Then turn on the air-conditioning unit, ventilate the system, open the inner package of the middle-effect filter, and replace it according to the above steps.

After installing the middle-effect filter, run the system and check whether there is any air leakage. When air leakage is found, do the following: tighten the fixings or replace the seals and re-install them, and if the medium-effect filter itself leaks, you need to replace it with a new medium-effect filter. Next, install the middle-effect filter panel. When installing the panel, install it according to the original marked direction, and minimize the gap between the panel and the ceiling to prevent dust from accumulating. After the installation of the medium-efficiency filter, the environmental testing should be re-conducted and validation should be done to provide the most reliable basis for the next determination of the medium-efficiency filter end-of-life.

  Intermediate-effect filter

The surface velocity, dust capacity, and life of the medium-effect filter are introduced as surface velocity and filtration velocity: the measurement of the ability of the medium-effect filter to handle the air volume is usually expressed by the surface velocity, and sometimes by the filtration velocity, which is the same for the flat panel filters. Surface velocity refers to the airflow velocity passing through the filter section, generally expressed in m/s. The filtration velocity refers to the airflow velocity passing through the filter media. The filtration speed is the airflow speed through the filter media area. Due to the different requirements of the medium-effect filter, the area of the filter media set up in the filter is also different, sometimes tens of times larger than the area of the filter section. Therefore, the filtration speed is smaller than the surface speed, usually expressed in m/min or cm/s. The size of the filtration speed is directly related to the performance of the filter. Filter speed is too high will reduce the purification efficiency and increase the resistance; therefore, to reduce the resistance, the filter speed of the medium efficiency filter is usually very small, while the area of the filter material is very large.

Dust capacity and life The dust capacity of an air filter refers to the rated amount of dust that can be contained and retained when the filter is changed from the initial resistance to the final resistance and is expressed as the amount of dust per metre2 of transition area (kg). For medium-effect filters, the dust capacity has a more important significance than the general industrial dust collector (such as bag filter), because when the dust collector reaches the rated dust capacity, often through the cleaning dust adhering to the dust collector filter media falls into the dust hopper, the resistance drops, and back to near the original state. But if the air filter is not, the filter reaches the rated capacity of dust and needs to be taken down to clean and regenerate (such as soaking filter), and sometimes to replace the filter media. Therefore, the size of the dust capacity also determines the life of the filter. The larger the dust capacity, the longer the life of the filter, so it can be seen that the dust capacity is an important performance indicator that indicates the length of life of the air filter. The amount of dust capacity and the medium-effect filter ferry material, more ideal ferry structure is the best gradient-type structure, that is, the structure of the filter media from loose transition to dense, this structure can get a larger dust capacity, but also get the highest efficiency.
