HEPA Filters FAQ

What is meant by the actual size and the nominal size of a high-efficiency filter with or without a partition?

A: The reason why there is a difference between the actual size and the nominal size of a high-efficiency filter with or without a partition is that the nominal size is the filter that contains the outer frame and the filter media, while the actual size generally excludes the outer frame and only calculates the width, height, and depth of the filter media as well as the area of the filter media.

What are the similarities and differences between high-efficiency filters with and without partitions?

A: High-efficiency filters can be divided into high efficiency with partition and high efficiency without partition.

Partitioned high-efficiency filters are made of ultra-fine glass fiber as filter media, glue board paper, aluminum platinum as a partition, and wooden or aluminum alloy frame, which have the advantages of high filtration efficiency, low resistance, and large air volume, and are widely used in various local purification equipment and clean plants.
Compared with high-efficiency filters with partitions, they have the advantages of small volume, lightweight, compact structure, and reliable performance under the same air volume.

What are the standard number of folds, the height of folds, and the formula for converting filter media with and without partitions?

A: The folding height of filter paper with partition is generally shorter than the height of the nominal size by about 30mm~34mm, and its folding number is mainly determined by the degree of elasticity of the assembly of the partition paper and filter paper and partition paper, and the curvature of the partition paper is calculated according to the standard, generally 4mm, less than 4 mm, the number of partitions with partition is more, and the other assemblies are loose, and the result is counterproductive, the number of partitions with partition is less, and the number of folding of filter paper without partition.
The number of filter paper folds is mainly determined by the filter paper fold height and the tightness of the filter paper.
