Features to look for when choosing an air filter

There are four main characteristics of air filters: 1. air filtration speed 2. air filtration efficiency 3. air filter resistance 4. air filter dust capacity.

Therefore, in the selection of the primary filter/medium efficiency bag filter/high-efficiency filter, we should also refer to these four performance parameters for corresponding selection.

The larger the filtering area of the air filter, the lower the filtering speed and the smaller the resistance of the air filter.
Under the specific structural conditions of the air filter, the rated air volume of the air filter reflects the filtering speed.
Experience shows that for filters of the same structure and the same filter media when the final resistance is determined, a 50% increase in the filter area will extend the service life of the air filter by 70% to 8O%, but the structure and site conditions of the air filter should also be taken into account when considering increasing the filter area.

Reasonable determination of air filter efficiency at all levels: When designing air conditioning, the efficiency of the air filter should first be determined according to the actual requirements, and then the pre-filter that plays a protective role should be selected.
To properly match the efficiency of air filters at all levels, good use and configuration of the respective best filter particle size range of primary and secondary filters.
And the choice of pre-filter should be based on the use of the environment, spare parts costs, operating energy consumption, maintenance costs, and other factors to consider a comprehensive decision.
The minimum count filtration efficiency of different efficiency classes of air filters for different sizes of dust particles usually refers to the efficiency of a new air filter without an electrostatic charge.
At the same time, the configuration of comfort air conditioning filters should be different from the purified air conditioning system, and the installation of air filters, leak-proof, etc. should also put forward different requirements.

The resistance of the air filter: the resistance of the air filter is mainly composed of the resistance of the filter media and the resistance of the air filter structure, the resistance of the air filter to ash accumulation increases, and when the resistance increases to a certain specified value the air filter is scrapped.
The final resistance is directly related to the service life of the air filter, system air volume change range, and system energy consumption.
Low-efficiency air filters often use coarse fiber media with a diameter greater than 10um, large spaces between the fibers, and too much resistance may blow the air filter on the accumulation of ash, causing secondary pollution, and at this time the resistance no longer increases, the filtration efficiency is zero, so the final resistance value of the filter below G4 should be strictly limited.

The dust capacity of the air filter: the dust capacity of the air filter is an indicator directly related to the period of use.
The air filter in the process of dust accumulation, the low-efficiency air filter is more likely to show an increase in efficiency first and then decline.
Most air filters used in general comfort central air conditioning systems are disposable and they simply cannot be cleaned or are not worth cleaning from an economic point of view.
