Daily use of VHP pass box

Daily use of VHP pass box

In biomedical, medical device, food, and other industries with high requirements for cleanliness, the VHP pass box is a key equipment to ensure that the production environment is not polluted. It acts as a solid line of defense, allowing items to be moved between different areas while ensuring that the sterile environment is not damaged. Today, we will take a closer look at the daily use of the VHP pass box.
1. Preparation before use
Equipment inspection
Appearance check: Before using, carefully check the appearance of the VHP pass box. Check whether the equipment shell is damaged, or deformed and whether the components are firmly connected, especially the sealing of the double door, to ensure that there is no gap or damage because this is directly related to the sterilization effect and environmental isolation effect.
Function check: Power on the device and check whether the indicator on the control panel is on normally. Check whether each function button can respond normally, such as start, stop, sterilization procedure selection, etc. At the same time, check whether the display displays abnormal information, such as fault codes.
Consumables check: Confirm whether the surplus of hydrogen peroxide solution is sufficient. Hydrogen peroxide is the key to the sterilization of the VHP pass box. If the solution is insufficient, the effective sterilization process may not be completed. In addition, it is also necessary to check the status of the filter to ensure that it has not reached its useful life because blocked or expired filters will affect the flow of gas and purification effect.
Environmental preparation
Installation location: The VHP pass box should be installed between the clean area and the unclean area, or at the junction of different clean levels. The installation location should be kept dry and well-ventilated, away from direct sunlight, and close to heat sources. At the same time, the surrounding space should be reserved enough to facilitate the operation and maintenance of the equipment and the handling of goods.
Clean the surroundings: Clean the surroundings of the pass box before use. Wipe the outside surface of the pass box with a clean, damp cloth to remove dust, stains, etc. At the same time, ensure that the ground around the pass box is clean and tidy and that there is no debris accumulation, so as not to affect the operation and pollute the transfer window.
2. Operation process
Item placement
Sorting: Sorting and sorting the items that need to be delivered to ensure that the packaging of the items is complete and without damage. Appropriate protective measures should be taken for items that are easily damaged. At the same time, it is necessary to avoid mixing different types of items to avoid mutual pollution.
Reasonable placement: Open the side door of the pass box (usually located in an unclean area or a lower level of cleanliness) and place the items smoothly on the shelf in the pass box. A certain gap should be maintained between the items, and it should not be piled up too tightly so that the hydrogen peroxide gas can fully contact the surface of each item to ensure the sterilization effect. After placing the items, close the side door.
Sterilization operation
Procedure selection: Select the appropriate sterilization procedure on the control panel according to the type and quantity of the item and the desired sterilization level. Different procedures may vary in parameters such as sterilization time, hydrogen peroxide concentration, and ventilation time. For example, for pharmaceutical raw materials that are sensitive to microorganisms, more stringent sterilization procedures may need to be selected.
Start sterilization: Confirm the program selection is correct, press the start button. At this time, the equipment starts to work, and the hydrogen peroxide solution is transported to the vaporization unit, converted into hydrogen peroxide gas after high-temperature flash evaporation, and introduced into the transfer window. In the sterilization process, do not open the door of the transfer window, so as not to affect the sterilization effect and personnel safety. At the same time, pay close attention to the operating status displayed on the control panel, such as the change in gas concentration, temperature, time, and other parameters.
ventilation
Wait for the end: After the sterilization procedure is completed, the equipment will automatically enter the ventilation stage. At this stage, do not rush to open the door of the delivery window. Wait for the ventilation system to expel the hydrogen peroxide gas in the pass box to reduce its concentration to a safe level. Usually, when the hydrogen peroxide gas concentration is less than 1ppm on the display, it indicates that ventilation has been completed.
Open the other side door: After confirming that ventilation is complete, open the door of the pass box located in the clean area or higher cleanliness level and take out the sterilized items. When taking out the item, pay attention to avoid secondary pollution to the item, complete the operation as quickly as possible, and then close the side door.
3. Maintenance after use
Equipment cleaning
Internal cleaning: Wipe the shelf and inner wall of the pass box with a clean wet cloth to remove residual dirt and hydrogen peroxide solution. For difficult-to-remove stains, you can use an appropriate amount of neutral cleaning agent to clean, but pay attention to avoid cleaning residue. After cleaning, wipe dry with a clean dry cloth.
External cleaning: Wipe the external surface of the pass box with the same damp cloth, including the door, control panel, housing, etc. Keeping the appearance of the device clean not only improves the appearance of the device but also prevents dust and stains from entering the device and affecting the performance of the device.
Scheduled maintenance
Regular inspection: Complete inspection of the VHP pass box regularly according to the operating instructions of the equipment. The inspection contents include the electrical system, mechanical components, sealing performance, sterilization effect, and so on. For the problems found, repair or replace the parts in time to ensure that the equipment is always in good working condition.
Consumables replacement: According to the actual use and the service life of the consumables, regularly replace the hydrogen peroxide solution, filters, and other consumables. The newly replaced consumables must be of qualified quality and installed by the correct method.
Proper use and maintenance of the VHP pass box are essential to ensure the cleanliness of the production environment. Only by strictly following the operation process and doing a good job of daily maintenance, can we give full play to the role of VHP pass box and escort product quality and production safety. I hope this article can provide a useful reference for practitioners in related industries so that we can protect this "defense line" of a clean environment together.
