Classification of the filtration efficiency of air filters

There are many different efficiency classifications in the many activated carbon air filters we use, and the scope of their application is also different, at this time we need to analyze their different classifications in many ways, and then choose the right one!

Generally speaking, when we use the dust concentration in the air as the calculation method, the efficiency is the weighting efficiency; when the counting concentration is expressed, the efficiency is the counting efficiency;
when other physical quantities are expressed, it is the colorimetric efficiency or turbidity efficiency. And our current common classifications are following the European standard, the main classification is as follows.

I.  Primary efficiency filter

1.G1: Grain size ≥5.0μm, filtration efficiency E≥20%

2.G2: Grain size ≥ 5.0μm, filtration efficiency 50>E≥20%

3.G3: Grain size ≥5.0μm, filtration efficiency 70>E≥50%

4.G4: Grain size ≥5.0μm, filtration efficiency 90>E≥70%

II. Medium efficiency filter

1.F5: Grain size ≥ 1.0μm, filtration efficiency 50>E≥30%

2.F6: Grain size ≥ 1.0μm, filtration efficiency 80>E≥50%

III. High and medium-efficiency filters

1.F7: Grain size ≥ 1.0μm, filtration efficiency 99>E≥70%

2.F8: Grain size ≥ 0.5μm, filtration efficiency 90>E≥75%

3.F9: Grain size ≥0.5μm, filtration efficiency 99>E≥90%

IV. Sub-high efficiency filter

1.H10: Grain size ≥ 0.5μm, filtration efficiency 99>E≥95%

2.H11: Grain size ≥0.5μm, filtration efficiency 99.9>E≥99%

V. High-efficiency filter

1.H12: Grain size ≥ 0.5μm, filtration efficiency E≥99.9%

2.H13: Grain size ≥ 0.5μm, filtration efficiency E≥99.99%
