Basic classification of HEPA filter media

Basic classification of HEPA filter media

1. According to the production method classification

(1)Woven filter media. In the mutual vertical listing of the two systems, the warp, weft spinning yarn, according to the law of interlacing and made of filter media.
(2) Non-woven filter media. Not through a" general spinning and weaving process, directly make the fibers into a network, and then mechanical, chemical or other methods, the fibers fixed in - together with the fiber structure of the filter media.
(3) Laminated enamel. Made of two or more methods into two or more materials laminated into the speed of the material
(4) Porous sintered condemned material. Metal fiber or powder, ceramic fiber or powder, and allied material powder are made into a certain shape, well by high-temperature sintering, and made of filter media.
(5) Film filter media. The surface of the above three types of filter media is then covered with a layer of moisture-permeable film and made of filter media.
(6) PU-coated filter media. The surface of the filter media is sprayed with a special medium to form a surface microporous filter media.

2. According to the classification of filter media material

(1) Natural fiber filter media. Such as plant fiber (cotton, hemp) filter media, animal fiber (animal hair) filter media, and mineral fiber (such as asbestos) filter media.
(2) Chemical fiber filter media. Such as artificial fibers (viscose fibers) filter media, and synthetic fiber filter media (bag filter media are mostly of this type).
(3) Inorganic fiber filter media. Such as glass fiber, metal fiber, high-efficiency filter ceramic fiber, and other filter media.

What is woven filter media for high efficiency filters?

Woven filter media is made of twisted warp and weft spun yarns or monofilaments interlaced by a loom.
Compared with non-woven filter media, woven filter media has the following characteristics:
(1) High strength and abrasion resistance, able to withstand high pressure.
(2) Better dimensional stability, suitable for making large diameter, long filter bags.
(3) Easy to form a flat and smooth surface or thin soft fabric, conducive to filter bag cleaning.
(4) Easy to adjust the degree of closeness of the fabric, can be made of both looser filter material, can also be made of a high degree of closeness.

What is non-woven filter media for high-efficiency filters?

Non-woven filter media for HEPA filters can be divided into three categories according to the method of forming the fiber web, namely dry non-woven, spun web non-woven, and wet non-woven.
Needled felts are the most commonly used non-woven filter media for baghouse dust collectors.
Needle-felted filter media has the following characteristics:
(1) Needle felt filter media in the fiber is station body interwoven distribution of three-dimensional structure. This structure is conducive to the rapid formation of the dust layer, the initial dust filtering, and dust cleaning does not exist through the pores, the dust capture effect is stable, and dust removal efficiency is higher than the general fabric filter media. Test results show that the dynamic dust capture rate can reach more than 99 9%~99.99%.
(2) Needle felts have a porosity of 70% to -80% and therefore have good moisture permeability and low resistance.
(3) Easy to produce on an industrial scale, easy to manipulate automatically, and guarantee the stability of product quality.
(4) Large production capacity, high labor productivity, conducive to reducing product costs.
(5) According to different flue gas characteristics and user needs, the material and variety of needle felts are diverse. In addition to purified filter media, there are also laminated filter media, surface microfiber filter media, laminated filter media, PU-coated filter media, etc. Non-woven filter media for high-efficiency filters are also available.
