A simple way to recognize two different air filters

Among the air filter equipment used, there are generally two common types, electrostatic filtration technology and HEPA filter technology, each with different characteristics and roles.

I. Electrostatic filtration technology

This is an air filter that uses a high-voltage electrostatic field to charge and trap particles.
The principle of operation is also very simple, as the equipment usually consists of two stages, when the contaminated air passes through the first filter section, the particles in the air are charged under the action of circulating ions between the main pole plate and the grounding pole; this is followed by the collection section, where the charged particles are trapped and purified.
The equipment is characterized by low resistance to operation, good filtration, and long service life compared to traditional filtration equipment.
But here we need to note that electrostatic filters generally need to be matched with the corresponding filters to work, to achieve better results, in addition, electrostatic filters can be disassembled and cleaned for our convenience.
Here again, we would like to share with you some notes on electrostatic filtration technology.

1. Electrostatic filters cannot be replaced, but they can be cleaned from time to time, and the cleaning method is very simple, using water or general cleaning agents;

2. Electrostatic filter can produce certain negative ions, which is very beneficial to the human body;

3. Electrostatic filter technology does not have the cost of subsequent supplies, but we must pay attention to regular cleaning to ensure the use of the effect, so clean-up must be timely.

II. HEPA filter technology

HEPA is an abbreviation for High-efficiency particulate air Filter, which translates to the high-efficiency air filter.
The HEPA standard filter has a removal effect of up to 99.8% for 0.2 microns and 0.4 microns pollutants, and the equipment is characterized by very small pores on the filter, so air can pass through but fine particles cannot.
The heart of the HEPA filter is the biosafety cabinet, which is also a treatable dry filter made of laminated borosilicate microfibres that look like paper and are extremely effective at removing particles from 0.4 microns in diameter and are particularly good for contaminants such as smoke, dust, and bacteria.

The current HEPA filter technology is mainly used in household purifiers, hoovers, medical purifiers, and other equipment.
Purification equipment abroad is very popular, so HEPA filters are available in supermarkets.
While our domestic market for purification equipment is occupied by foreign brands for about 25% of the market, it is pleasing to note that the HEPA filters in the filters we use generally come from domestic companies and it has now become the preferred choice of purifier filters.
In the process of using it, we would also like to draw your attention to the following aspects.

1. HEPA filters need to be replaced after a long period, if they continue to be used, they are likely to cause secondary pollution;

2. HEPA filters are generally priced between 50 - 250 yuan, but the specific brand depends on the good and bad to determine, try to choose a well-known, good reputation of the brand to buy;

3. In terms of the effect of purification, HEPA filters are slightly better than electrostatic filtration, so if you do not consider the cost of replacement, it is recommended to choose HEPA filters.
