A brief introduction to the materials used to make HEPA filters

What is HEPA made of?
Many materials make up a HEPA and they can be divided into PP (polypropylene), PET, PP, and PET combined, and glass fiber.
The other part of the HEPA filter is made of PET or PTFE.
This is the main material used for cleaning HEPA filters on the internet.
However, you must be warned that PET has a very low efficiency.

PP high-efficiency filter paper: It is a new filter material made from polypropylene by a special hot-melt method.
It is acid and alkali-resistant, corrosion-resistant, high melting point, stable performance, non-toxic, odorless, evenly distributed, low resistance, high efficiency, high strength, and environmentally friendly.

PET filter paper: made of meltblown polyester resin and other materials.
It has high hardness, good stiffness, corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance, and stable performance.
It is often used in household appliances requiring low filtration accuracies, such as sweepers and hoovers or large cleaning machines.

Composite filter paper (PP and PET): simply meltblown PP followed by a layer of PET, the composite filter paper combines the advantages of PP and PET: easy to shape and guarantee filtration accuracy, rigidity, and high precision.

Glass fiber high-efficiency filter paper: glass fiber high-efficiency filter paper is a high gold content filter paper, which was used in the nuclear industry before.
The filter paper is held in place and sealed with an aluminum frame or other metal casing to avoid damage to the paper and compromise the filtering effect.
